My Waxing Aftercare Favorites

One of the biggest keys to preventing ingrown hairs is regular exfoliation. I personally love incorporating both physical and chemical exfoliation into an aftercare routine because they work in different ways to help keep the skin smooth and balanced. Physical exfoliation helps remove dead skin buildup from the surface of the skin and can improve texture while helping hair grow properly through the skin. For chemical exfoliation, I love products that specifically target ingrown hairs and clogged pores without being overly harsh on the skin. One of my favorite products is Lady Peng’s “Agent 88 Serum” because it helps gently exfoliate the skin while supporting smoother texture and helping minimize ingrown hairs and discoloration. Chemical exfoliants can be incredibly effective when used consistently and properly, especially for clients who struggle with bumps or uneven texture after waxing.

Hydration is another essential part of post wax care that is often overlooked. Keeping the skin moisturized helps maintain a healthy skin barrier and reduces dryness, irritation, and friction. I always recommend using gentle, unscented lotions or fragrance free moisturizers after waxing because they are less likely to irritate freshly waxed or sensitive skin. Lightweight oils and calming moisturizers can also help keep the skin soft and comfortable between appointments.

Regular exfoliation, proper hydration, and maintaining a consistent waxing schedule all work together to improve your results over time.
